Blog Resurrection + Beauty Resolutions for 2018

New year, new blog! Sort of.

This is an old blog technically, but this is the first time I’ve posted in a really long time, so it kind of feels, well, new.

As my “first” post, I thought a list of beauty habits I aim to practice in 2018 (and hopefully beyond) would be most fitting. No daunting tasks whatsoever – just simple beauty tweaks and little lifestyle improvements that are very easy to maintain even for somebody like me whose attention span is that of a gnat. Hee.

1. Take off makeup nightly

I do manage to remove my makeup 95% of the time, but there’s still that other 5% for when I’m either too tired or too drunk to do it. Tsk tsk

2. Up my skincare game

Explore the realm of anti-aging products and then come up with a day and night skincare routine that involves such. I’ll also wear sunscreen every day, go for monthly facials, and ultimately, drink lots and lots of water.

3. Put my foundation and lipsticks on rotation

Foundation and lipsticks have got to be my favorite makeup items to collect, which explains the massive growth in my stash over the years. But I don’t get to use every single one of my foundations and lipsticks often – some of them I’ve only worn once and that’s it! Reason being there are certain foundation types and lipstick shades I prefer and find myself always reaching for.

Hence, to make sure I get to use all of my foundation and lipsticks, I promise to a.) switch up foundations every 2 days, and b.) veer away from the usual lip products I gravitate towards and wear those other shades I have in my collection as well.

4. Wear eyeshadow more

Make good use of my eyeshadow palettes and wear eye makeup if not every day at least most of the time. Master the art of combining colors and blending seamlessly.

5. Wash those brushes

Find time every weekend to wash them. This is a must!

There ya have it! Pretty doable, yes?

Although, in relation to #3, I would’ve added “not buy any more foundation and lipsticks until I’ve used up at least one of each in my collection,” but that’s something I’m not yet ready to commit to. Maybe in time :)
